Day 4: West Texas and New Mexico

If there were any state that would have a waffle shaped after it, it would be Texas. These cheap hotel breakfasts are starting to get to me I think.

We decided to get up really early on Monday in order to make it to Bandelier National Monument in New Mexico, 7 hours away, before the parked closed.  This worked out nicely because we were up in time for a glorious west Texas sunrise.  We pulled off the interstate and climbed a hill to take some shots.

What an amazing chance to take photos!

We then drove through El Paso and looked at Mexico from the Interstate.  The drive up through New Mexico into Albuquerque was stunning, especially for people used to forest covered plains and hills.
