My First Time in Portland, A Look Back

My first visit to Portland, OR was during a rare February storm in 2014.  My jet touched down in a white winter paradise.  I had plans of renting a car but since the city was pretty much shut down I decided to spend the weekend getting around on foot.  This is when I discovered how easy it was to get around Portland without a car!  My hotel was right on the streetcar line and walking or riding distance from anywhere I wanted to go, including the airport.  The snow, while a somewhat uncommon event in Portland, just made the whole trip magical.

A very ‘Portland’ scene looking out onto East Burnside while I was eating a slice of pizza (of course) from Sizzle Pie.

Most of the food carts were closed this day but the few that were open were busy.
